5/11/14 day 34: Frankfurt, Germany

Up at 7:30 for breakfast at the hotel. Out the door by 8:30.

(The scene outside the hotel)

Two hour drive through the countryside to the airport. Drove through beautiful Marburg even. Dropped off the rental, hoping nobody saw the scratch that we all agree was there when we got it, and skittled off to the gate. Got to the gate nice and early, enough time to relax at a cafe for a moment. I think I went through security with rapper Lloyd Banks. At least, I think that's who it was.

Frankfurt>JFK>Phoenix

Hard to believe it's over, but the cup is now full. Now it's time to refocus on the new album and all the beautiful opportunities and friends in Phoenix. It's easier knowing I'll be back this year. So many great memories, laughs, and beautiful musical moments. Hats off to Peter (Stormy Dream) and Jeff (BTH) for making these tunes sound so good and being such easy tour hangs. Hugs to Emily for taking care of all the economic logistics, sharing food with Peter, and putting up w fart jokes for three weeks. We were a good crew. Spirits soared. The feedback was overwhelming; so grateful.

Looking back on all the shows, it's hard to find a favorite. So much good at each location. Last night was a real surprise. Didn't really know what to expect and then BLAM; 100 people on their feet demanding more music. So many nights were like that. Excited to see what the future brings here. I love the fact that I can come to Germany, one of my favorite places on the planet, and share music. I'm just completely full of gratitude. Thanks to Kevin Kennedy for continuing to have faith in this music and book us on these magical tours. We are making good progress, amigo.

Alright, Operation Phoenix has begun. There is much to do. See you soon. Auf Wiedersehen. Good night.
