1/25/15 day 6: Schweich, DE

Oh man. Slept clean through until my 9:10am wake up call. Had a nice little frühstuck w the cats and then hit the autobahn at 11.

Drove through Pfälzerwald which was very pretty; twisting roads, snow capped pine trees, little villages tucked into the nooks and crannies of the hills. Very picturesque, baby.

Made it to the hotel in a little over two hours. Dropped off the luggage and went on a small walkabout w Jeff while Peter grabbed a power nap. There is a little street festival today; carts selling fresh waffles, Glühwein, frikadelle sandwiches. Nice little scene.

Quick change at the hotel and then walked up the street to the venue; an old synagogue. Very vibey, great acoustics.

Pre-gig spread is on point.

Met our hosts Christoph and Judith and did a quick soundcheck. Walked back down to the hotel for dinner which was pretty righteous... I had chicken breast with feta and roasted tomatoes. Walked back up to the venue around 7 and warmed up in the green room. We hit around 730. Show was great. Nice crowd, very attentive, very appreciative. We had some nice chats after the, ahem, second encore. We sang Dance With Me in the lobby with a fan who is a young singer songwriter. Packed up our gear and walked back down to the hotel.

There was a short jam session in the hotel bar and then it was lights out. 3 hr drive tmrw to Freiburg. So stoked to get back to alma mater!
