1/29/15 day 10: Baden-Baden, DE

Woke up around 8 to the soothing sounds of a hammer, drill, and what I can only guess was a jack hammer... Germans... Always working... Take the morning off, for crying out loud. I pretended not to hear it or feel the shaking of the walls until about 930 but stubbornly stayed in bed until 10. We were out the door at 11. Rolled back to the car at the university parking garage, dropped off our gear and went out for one last stroll.

First order of business was coffee. We hit up a tiny little cafe right next to Martinstor. We popped into a couple stores and by about 1230 we were all ready to hit the road. We decided we should make one more quick stop at Uni Döner for a little snack; one more Döner for the road. It was worth it. Damn they know what they are doing. Peter and I decided to split a Yufka Döner which is the same thing just with a tortilla-like wrap instead of flat bread.

We made the one hr journey to Baden-Baden without incident. A dude can get spoiled by all these short drives.. We hit up our very nice hotel around 2 and I powered down hard. I went full room black out, eye mask, white noise. It was a dangerous move but I was willing to risk it. Up and out of the hotel by 4 and arrived a few minutes later at the venue, Rantastic, where we met Mauritz and Alex our sound and light team and Miriam our hospitality manager.  We loaded in and sound checked in under an hr and had 3.5 hrs to kill. So we did wht any rock and roll band from America would do... We got wild.
Our backstage antics are legendary.
The calm before the mellow acoustic storm. Rantastic, Baden-Baden, DE.

Had a nice dinner in the restaurant adjacent to the venue.. More like in the venue. This complex is huge; it houses tennis courts, restaurant, and music venue among other things.

We hit to a full house. It felt great. Sounded really amazing. Best sound so far for sure. Our set felt great. "On My Own" is feeling really nice. I thought Peter's jam "Beauty" was the best yet. We also dusted off "Here Comes The Sun" as an encore and it slayed. We had some good convos after the set. A young couple from Freiburg made the trip for the show and were totally jazzed. I love that! It was a great night. Great room. Great vibes.
