10/13/14 day 6: Dresden, DE

We met Mirko for breakfast at his other business, Tiki, which is a cafe/ice cream shop just 300 meters down the road from Blue Note and the apartment. Snacked on panini and espresso and sampled some of the ice cream goods; my favorite was the mango basil.

After lunch we walked into the Alt Stadt crossing the Elba and walking along the river. This is the only city that I've seen with a natural river bank. It's crazy to think that the look of the river hasn't changed from the time when it was first settled.

We strolled by most of the tourist sights and then made our way back to the apartment. I went down for another nap after grabbing a Currywurst mit Fritten. So delicious!!

Met Mirko at 6 for dinner at Devil's Kitchen, a nice little burger joint down the road. All the burgers were towering monstrosities. I got a side salad because I'm healthy.

After dinner we rolled over to the club and hung out; our stuff was already set up from the night prior, so there was no sound check or load in. It was glorious! Our buddy Frank, the owner of the venue in Radeburg where we played on Friday showed up. Great to see him be able to just enjoy the show and not be working! Our new Dresden buddies Veronika, Max, and Falko also rolled up. Such good people!

The show went really well. Felt nice. Another super attentive crowd of about 40. Blue Note makes 40 people feel amazing. Crumble was the musical highlight for me as was Moving in Slow Motion and Here Comes The Sun. Got the crowd singing on the latter as well as Printemps à Paris and 1000 Little Pieces.

It's gonna be hard to top the last two nights! We will miss Dresden and hope to be back soon.
