5/5/12 day 10: Portovenere, Italy

Back to rainy, overcast weather today. Due to a mix up with the "in port manning" I was forced to stay on the ship again. It made for a very chill day. I was productive though; I learned "hey Jude" and "Michelle." I would have liked one more day in Italy to pick up some new ties and maybe some wine for the cabin but oh well. I did sign up to escort on some upcoming passenger trips. Crew is encouraged to assist in the passenger outings: sometimes it means assisting older passengers on a tour or counting heads or just being an extra set of eyes. In any case, I signed up to assist a bunch this coming week: a bike tour of Barcelona, a couple wine tastings, a segway tour, and then a horseback ride through the Spanish country side. I am really looking forward to these tours. The gigs went well too. Finally working three sets a night. It feels good to be working again. It's not all play! Also found out tonight that I have access to the passenger gym which should be great incentive to keep the work outs happening.

It's weird. Sometimes you forget you are living and working on a boat until you get into bed and your hear the waves crashing on the bow. No subtle reminder...

Signing off. More tomorrow from France.
